Like to Add a few interior lights

1981,2000. I would like to tap into the instrument lighting to include a few more small interior lights. Could someone describe how to do this in very basic language?RB

A couple preliminary questions. How do you want to control or use them? Come on when door opens, turn on independently with switch, and so forth? I don't know that I would tap the instrument cluster lights as they run through the rheostat dimmer and would create more load that it might not be able to handle.

i added the "Fiat" led lights you get on Ebay to the footwells . tapped them into my console map light so they go on and off with the door opening/closing.
