Mounting temp and Over Temp Sensors in Head

Given that these 2 head sensors need to make ground to function correctly, do we mount them in the head absolutely clean and dry, or use a little aluminum anti-sieze, or maybe some Teflon tape to get a good seal? The tape wears through at the peaks of the threads, so I think electrical contact would be made.

Proper torque for the temp sending units? Nothing in the manuals that I can find.

What is best common practice?

Second question: Sealant used at the coolant housing at top front of the engine? Not the one that holds the sensor, but the large one that bolts down onto the head directly, the "water extension housing", mounted with 4 bolts. It has a gasket. Should this be assembled dry or with sealant?

i would try clean and dry first
and if it leaks then use teflon tape

and tighten it down just dont give it all you can

I am wondering if this spec for "Switch Water Temperature", M16-1.5 taper, Brass, refers to the Over Temp switch in the top rear of the Head?

36 ft-lbs seems a little severe...

What is the water extension housing?

It is the big aluminum lump that sits on top of the head at the front and holds the Coolant "T". Held down by 4 bolts, 2 long, 2 short.
