here are a few pics of a resto-mod that's nearing completion with us. The door panels feature vinyl along the top, wood trim that matches the custom dash, fabric that matches the seats with a vinyl insert above the arm rest that mimics the original stitching and a carpet kick guard in the front lower corner. The rear panels have matching fabric that continues from the door panel to create a nice visual flow. I'll be posting complete pics in the next week or two as the project gets completed.
Nice work mark, what type of wood was used and can you recommend an exotic wood to use that really looks sharp, I currently have Walnut Burl but unfortunately the grain is cracking along the interface between the different grains, can you recommend a wood-working person that could cut new sections? Thanks
Mike
the space between the tach and speedo is not an opening, it houses all of the warning lights; turn sig arrows, battery, oil pressure and brake warning lights. Above it will be a plaque the customer requested. The color is as close to the original blue as we could find. The car is a 73, 1608 motor
here's a pic of the new top, German canvas in blue. The boot cover matches and the car is getting a matching tonneau cover. All blue German canvas. More pics coming next week once the interior is completed.
