Took these at around 8pm when light was much more subtle and better reflects what car looks like, + better b.g. than driveway. You can see how the tone of green shifts with light and angle. I think this helps show off style lines.

I'm presently wet-sanding the primer on a '72 two-door (of a different nationality than the Spiders). Please wish me luck with the urethane base coat/clear coat!
And yes,...finishing detail bodywork on my Spider at the same time. Glutton for punishment,...

Thanks tima. I agree re: coastal roads, however in So. Maine most of these are slow and residential. I HAVE been loving my local rural roads, most of which are a series of twists, turns and hills through the woods.

Thanks Roller. After all the time I had to consider color, I basically picked this when I sat down to order paint. Before that I had not really considered this green. I am very glad I did now.

I can hardly believe I'm considering picking up another one of these! That one I posted about in VT is no longer listed . Would have made a great orig. restoration. I did see a basket case that might be had for $500 - My thoughts are to possibly build one like that with a late model wrecked sport bike engine... Hayabusa 1300? ...or something crazy like that. I'd also like an opportunity to play with suspension design. I think it'd be a blast to build a low budget screamer 124. An episode of Jay Leno's garage put this crazy idea in my head. Here:

I had 1 broken stud on each door handle. Just need to drill out and tap for new studs. Springs are likely original equip. I might like it an inch or so lower but I'm fine with it as is. Rally version. Lol...Wheels are off the shelf from Vick and they fit / look as I anticipated. I would say that I got the "flat" paint version and that it is what I would consider satin or matte.

Good luck with paint! I know the glutton for punishment feeling as I'm actually considering finding another one of these and doing this again... Not right away though!
